Learning to Rest in God

Faith rest is the learned and disciplined confidence by which a believer, grounded in God’s Word, responds to pressure with calm trust rather than fear or self effort, choosing by positive volition to apply divine viewpoint so that, unlike Israel in the wilderness, he lives after salvation with settled dependence on God’s promises instead of forfeiting peace and stability through unbelief (Heb. 3:12, 16, 19; 4:1–2, 9–11; Isa. 26:3; Rom. 10:17).
