Bad leaders exclude God from their daily thoughts and activities and selfishly pursue their own desires, even if it means harming others. In contrast, the good leader is first and foremost a follower of God who wears a crown of humility and derives his values and strength from the Lord. As believers, we are always to pray for those in leadership positions. Paul writes, “I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity” (1 Tim. 2:1-2).
